Adilabad: The District Superintendent of Police (SP) has emphasized that the Vijayadashami celebrations should be conducted in a peaceful and joyful atmosphere. On Saturday, the police officers held a special puja (prayer) to Goddess Durga at the Ayudu Bhandagara Mandir, located at the local police headquarters. Vedic scholars were present during the ceremony.

As part of the tradition, the SP fired five rounds into the sky as a symbol of victory to mark the beginning of the Vijayadashami celebrations. Following this, the dog squad, bomb squad team, and police vehicles from the armed police department took part in the puja event.

During his speech, the District SP extended his warm greetings to the people of the district for Vijayadashami. He mentioned that the police department has been working hard to ensure the district remains peaceful, allowing everyone to celebrate the festival in a grand manner.

The SP also noted that the immersion procession of Goddess Durga, which took place throughout the district, continued till midnight and was successfully completed without any incidents. He highlighted the importance of weapons in the police force, explaining that they are carefully maintained by the armed forces. Finally, the SP wished success to all the people in the district on the occasion of Vijayadashami.

Several officials, including Vertical DSP P Srinivas, Reserve Inspectors D Venkathy, T Murali, Chandrasekhar, Reserve Sub-Inspectors, the Reserve Staff, Dog Squad, Bomb Disposal Team, Motor Transport Team, and other staff members, participated in the event.
