One resident named Divya Khatri received a message on WhatsApp with a spam number claiming to offer free recharge. The message states that Rahul Gandhi is providing three months of free recharge to encourage people to vote for Congress in the 2024 elections.
Clicking on the link in the message takes users to a webpage where they are asked to provide their details. Another link directly opens the Indian National Congress website.
An activist named Asif Hussain Sohail said that the party authorities and police should take action against these spam messages and posts, as they are a form of cybercrime. He suggested involving the Cybercrime authority and creating awareness among people to avoid falling into such traps.
It is important to note that the WhatsApp forward is fake, and people are advised not to click on the link.
