Gadwal: 104 Employees Demand Immediate Payment of Pending Salaries

The 104 Employees’ Association, affiliated with the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), has called for the immediate release of pending salaries for employees working under the 104 programme. On Saturday, District President Beechupalli submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, urging swift action in clearing the arrears.

The association revealed that employees in the Health Department have not received their salaries for six months, up to October 2024. Despite repeated protests, the government issued a Government Order (G.O. Rt. No. 706) on December 4, announcing the release of funds. However, even after the funds were allocated, the salaries remain unpaid, leading to severe hardships for the employees.

The association expressed frustration over the government’s negligence, pointing out the financial and emotional stress faced by employees and their families. They criticized the administration for assigning additional work to employees while delaying salary payments under various excuses.

Concerns about job security were also raised. Employees claimed the government had promised adjustments to Director of Medical Education (DME) institutes within their respective districts. However, no official orders have been issued to implement this assurance, leaving workers uncertain about their future.

The association recalled that earlier protests had resulted in promises from the government to facilitate transfers to DME-affiliated hospitals in employees’ home districts. Despite these assurances, no progress has been made on the matter.

In addition to demanding the immediate release of Rs 12.56 crores in pending salaries across the state, the association warned of large-scale protests under CITU’s leadership if their demands are not met promptly.
