In Hyderabad, the Commissioner’s Task Force East Zone team and Begum Bazar police busted a gang of six people involved in circulating fake Indian currency notes. They seized Rs 36,35,500 in fake notes, along with Rs 28,000 in cash, eight mobile phones, printing material, and a bike from the suspects.
The accused individuals were identified as Pabbati Murali Krishna (38), Khader Maiden (30), Hitesh alias Mahender Das Vaishnav (30), Dhasharath Kumar Parmar (27), Mali Rajuram (25), and Praveen Kumar Mali (29). Murali Krishna was the main culprit responsible for printing and distributing the counterfeit money.
Murali Krishna, who hails from Guntur, had been previously arrested for similar offenses. He collaborated with Maideen from Tamil Nadu to start printing fake notes in a rented room in Patancheru. They used equipment like a computer, color printer, paper, and other materials to produce fake currency.
Khader then worked with Hitesh in Begum Bazar to circulate the fake notes in the market. Hitesh, in turn, distributed the counterfeit money through Dhasharath, Mali, Praveen, and others. The police caught the suspects red-handed at Feelkhana while they were passing off the fake notes.
Authorities urged the public to check for visible identification marks on Rs 500 notes issued by the RBI and to report any counterfeit currency they encounter. It’s important for individuals to be cautious while handling cash to avoid falling victim to fake currency scams.
