Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) is planning to set up green energy plants on all its unused lands to promote sustainable energy.
During a program where bonus cheques were distributed to SCCL workers, Bhatti, in the presence of Ministers D Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, discussed the future challenges of coal reserves running out. He also mentioned that power stations using thermal energy could face restrictions in the future. Because of this, SCCL will need to transition to green energy, including solar power.
Bhatti also said that the State government will work with foreign companies to create partnerships that will help make green energy a reality. He assured the workers that the government will provide full support. He also encouraged SCCL workers to reduce the cost of coal production to ensure the company can survive the upcoming challenges.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that the cost of contract workers is currently lower than the production cost of SCCL workers. He explained that if this gap is reduced, Singareni could achieve higher profits and continue to grow successfully.
