Shiv Sena Telangana Chief Demands Higher Compensation for SLBC Tunnel Collapse Victims
Shiv Sena Telangana State President, Sinkaru Shivaji, has criticized the Telangana government for its response to the SLBC tunnel collapse. He demanded a compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of operator Gurupreet Singh and the engineers who lost their lives in the tragic incident. Additionally, he urged the government to provide a job for one family member of each deceased worker.
Expressing deep sorrow over the accident, Shivaji called the trapped workers “true soldiers” and insisted that their sacrifice should be honored with a permanent memorial. He argued that the state’s compensation of ₹25 lakh was not enough and demanded ₹75 lakh for other workers who were buried inside the tunnel.
Shivaji stressed that the SLBC project is an important initiative for future generations and that every worker involved in its construction should be regarded as a brave warrior. He urged the government to cancel the ₹25 lakh compensation cheque for Gurupreet Singh’s family and replace it with ₹1 crore, along with a guaranteed job for a family member.
Shiv Sena has also appealed to the central government to support the victims’ families. Shivaji expressed his heartbreak over workers losing their lives while contributing to national development.
As rescue operations continue, he prayed for the safe return of the remaining trapped workers. He also repeated his demand for proper recognition and financial support for the families of those who lost their lives.
