Shabbir Ali criticizes Modi for his divisive comments

Senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir Ali strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for claiming that the Congress’ election manifesto is similar to the Muslim League. Shabbir Ali denounced Modi’s divisive remarks, which discriminate against people based on their religion. Despite being in power for ten years, Modi is resorting to Hindu-Muslim rhetoric to gain support for the upcoming elections.

Shabbir Ali reminded everyone that historically, it was the BJP, not the Congress, that supported Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Muslim League. He emphasized that the Congress has always opposed the Muslim League, unlike the BJP. Shabbir Ali highlighted the BJP’s past admiration for Jinnah, mentioning how senior BJP leaders like Lal Krishna Advani and Jaswant Singh openly praised him. He challenged Modi to explain why the Jana Sangh’s founder formed a coalition government with the Muslim League in certain provinces.

He criticized Modi for contradicting his ‘SabkaSaath, Sabka Vikas’ slogan by targeting the Muslim community. Shabbir Ali demanded clarification from Modi on whether he is attacking an organization that no longer exists in India or the entire Muslim community. He questioned whether Modi views Indian Muslims as equal citizens and whether he has a bias against their beliefs and contributions.

Overall, Shabbir Ali condemned Modi’s attempt to stir up communal tensions for political gain and urged him to focus on inclusive governance rather than divisive rhetoric.
