According to SFI State President RL Murthy, SFI State Secretary T Nagaraju, and Girijana Sangham leaders M Dharmanaik and R Sriram Naik, 40 teaching positions were illegally created and filled by the Chief Secretary of the Tribal Welfare Department. These appointments reportedly bypassed authorized outsourcing agencies, raising questions about the recruitment process.

The leaders alleged widespread corruption, claiming that significant sums of money were exchanged to secure these jobs. They stated that the appointments were made under the guise of necessity, without official notifications or adherence to proper protocols. An official order (RC No: A1/1217/2024) was issued on November 14, sanctioning these 40 positions statewide.

Typically, outsourcing jobs in government departments must follow strict guidelines and involve authorized agencies. However, the appointments in this case were reportedly made directly through the gurukula department, bypassing these rules. Allegations suggest bribes ranging from ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh per position, implicating officials in the Tribal Welfare Department.

There are also claims that these appointments were made under pressure from the department’s chief secretary. Principals at the schools are reportedly confused about how to handle wage payments, as the appointments did not follow standard procedures. Additionally, five posts in the combined Nalgonda district were allegedly filled based on recommendations from local MLAs, hinting at political interference and further corruption.

The SFI and Telangana Tribal Association are now demanding a thorough investigation into the issue, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in tribal welfare educational institutions.
