Seven accused arrested by Kavali Police in APSRTC driver attack, search underway for remaining suspects

The Kavali Rural police in Nellore have arrested seven suspects for attacking an APSRTC bus driver in Kavali. They are still searching for the remaining accused. The police began searching for the suspects immediately after receiving a complaint from the victim, Bondili Ratan Singh, and managed to arrest them within 24 hours. The accused have been charged under various sections of the IPC. The suspects are part of a fake currency gang that steals money from travelers on the road.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sudhakar, Putta Sivakumar Reddy, Sheikh Khajawali, Kuppala Vamsi, Faiyaz, Jilani, and Sheikh Baji. The police have revealed that these individuals have multiple cases registered against them.

The incident took place on October 26 when the bus driver noticed a car stopping in front of the bus and honked. This led to an altercation between the drivers. Later, when the bus was on the service road near the National Highway-16, the accused arrived in two cars and attacked the driver. They also broke the mobile phones of passengers who were recording the incident and beat another driver in the bus.

The Kavali Rural Police registered a case based on the complaint and formed special teams to apprehend the accused. The teams successfully caught them while they were trying to flee in a car without a number plate. The police have commended the efforts of Kavali Rural CI M Rajesh, Kavali Rural SI S Suman, and other staff involved in capturing the suspects.
