A senior leader of the Congress party in Telangana, A Maheshwar Reddy, has joined the BJP. This is a big blow to the Congress party, which is already struggling. Many people think that the BJP is trying to take away strong Congress leaders in different districts. Reddy joined the BJP in New Delhi in the presence of national president JP Nadda and general secretary Tarun Chug. He had a disagreement with TPCC president A Revanth Reddy over promoting his opponents in his Assembly constituency. Recently, the AICC high command sent notices to Maheshwar Reddy for anti-party activities. Senior BJP leader and MLA Eatala Rajender convinced Reddy to join the party. State BJP president Bandi Sanjay was also present at the event.
Sources say that the BJP is talking to other Congress leaders who are unhappy with the State leadership. The BJP is trying to take strong Congress leaders from Nalgonda, Khammam, Mahbubnagar, and Ranga Reddy districts. Many of these leaders are thinking about joining the BJP, but they are waiting to see what happens in politics. By the time of the assembly elections, many leaders may join the BJP.
