Senior Congress leaders exert strong influence to secure tickets for their relatives

Hyderabad: The lobbying for party tickets in Congress has intensified as the Centre hints at introducing a bill for one nation, one election during the special session of Parliament in September. At least a dozen senior Congress leaders are vying for tickets for their family members. They have expressed their willingness to bear the expenses and contribute funds to the party if their requests are granted.

N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Nalgonda MP and former TPCC president, is pushing for a ticket for his wife N Padamavati from the Kodad Assembly constituency. He himself wants a ticket from Huzurnagar. TPCC president A Revanth Reddy’s close aides are also lobbying for the Kodad seat. Anjan Kumar Yadav, senior leader and former Secunderabad MP, is seeking a ticket for his son, Anil Kumar Yadav, who is a Youth Congress leader.

Sitakka’s son Suryam hopes to secure a party ticket from the Pinapaka assembly segment, with support from Revanth Reddy. Damodar Raja Narasimha’s daughter Trisha is interested in contesting from the Medak Assembly segment. Raja Narasimha has expressed his willingness to withdraw if Trisha is given a ticket. K Jana Reddy, a senior Congress leader and former PCC president, has sons Raghuveer Reddy and Jaiveer Reddy who have sought tickets from Nagarjuna Sagar and Miryalagudar respectively. Konda Surekha, former Minister, wants a ticket for Warangal (East) and Parkala seat for her husband Konda Murali. Balaram Naik, tribal leader and former union minister, wants tickets for his family members from the two reserved assembly seats in old Warangal district.
