Workers in the unorganized sector need to know their rights under labor laws, according to Senior Civil Judge G. Sabita, Secretary of Nagar Kurnool District Legal Services Authority. The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) held a legal science conference for women workers in Endabetla village in Nagar Kurnool mandal.
During the event, it was emphasized that district and mandal level legal services are available to offer free legal advice and services to workers in the unorganized sector. This includes helping them access benefits from various social welfare laws and government programs. Workers were encouraged to register their names on a labor portal to access schemes and compensations provided by the central government.
Legal services are particularly important for women, children, SCs, STs, disabled individuals, and workers. Legal science seminars are being organized in villages to educate people about laws and help resolve minor disputes quickly through Lokadalats. The judicial system is now focused on providing justice to victims while punishing criminals.
During the conference, Sabita also visited a sub-jail in Nagar Kurnool to review the facilities for the 23 prisoners there. Nagaraj, Second Additional Junior Civil Judge Srinidhi, advocates, and others were present at the event.
