Second Phase of Loan Waiver Disbursed, CM Announces Congress Keeps Promise

Telangana Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka have launched the second phase of the farmer loan waiver program. This event took place at the assembly premises and aims to reduce the financial burden on farmers. It is considered a significant step towards promoting the welfare of the agricultural sector in the state.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized the Congress party’s dedication to fulfilling promises made by leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. He stated, “We are fulfilling the promises given by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. Today, we are fortunate to initiate the debt waiver program, a celebration taking place in the homes of farmers across Telangana.”

Revanth also expressed his gratitude for the chance to help farmers, mentioning that he had once benefited from a loan waiver himself.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka provided more details about the financial aspects of the initiative. He revealed that Rs. 6,190 crores will be distributed in the second phase of the loan waiver, benefiting around 5.95 lakh farmer families. He noted that Rahul Gandhi had previously announced this loan waiver during a farmer’s declaration in Warangal.

Bhatti Vikramarka also addressed criticism from BRS party leaders, who doubted the feasibility of a Rs. 2 lakh loan waiver. “The Congress government has made it possible,” he said. He pointed out that while the BRS government had only aimed for a one lakh loan waiver for electoral gain, the Congress party is fulfilling its commitment to more substantial debt relief.

The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that today is a festive day for the people of Telangana, with farmers celebrating the financial relief they are receiving. He assured that the debt waiver has been implemented like never before in the history of the country and that the government is in constant contact with bankers to facilitate the process.

With this initiative, the Telangana government aims to create a supportive environment for farmers. The goal is to alleviate their financial constraints, enabling them to focus on their livelihoods.
