SCR to alter alignment of Dornakal and Miryalaguda railway line

The South Central Railway General Manager, Anil Kumar Jain, has informed MP Nama Nageswara Rao that the issue of changing the alignment of the Dornakal – Miryalaguda new railway line will be reconsidered. This decision comes after the line has caused significant loss to the people and farmers of Khammam district. Nama received a special letter from the Railway GM regarding this matter.

Nama has stated that he has no objection if the railway line, which has no benefit to Khammam district, is taken from outside the district. He emphasized that allowing this new railway line in Khammam district would pose a serious threat to the farmers and people. Nama had previously presented letters to the Railway Minister, Chairman of the Railway Board, and the General Manager.

After examining Nama’s letters, the Railway GM has promised to consider his suggestions and find a solution to the problem. Nama has been vocal about not tolerating any damage caused by this new railway line to farmers or people in his parliament.

Nama also highlighted that the farmers have already suffered losses due to National Highways, Nagarjuna Sagar, and other projects. They are not willing to lose their valuable lands due to this new railway line, as these lands hold real estate ventures and houses for the poor.

He reiterated that he has always been against this railway line in the district. In a previous meeting, he discussed the matter with railway officials and clarified with the railway minister that the new railway line can be constructed outside Khammam district.
