The South Central Railway (SCR) has released an important notice about ticket cancellations and refunds for canceled trains.
If a train is fully canceled due to unavoidable reasons like accidents, floods, protests, or rail blockages, passengers who booked tickets at a Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter must visit any PRS counter to submit their reservation. This must be done within three days of the train’s scheduled departure.
Once submitted, passengers will receive a full refund without any cancellation charges.
For e-tickets, the cancellation process will happen automatically. The full refund will be credited directly to the passenger’s bank account through IRCTC.
SCR also mentioned that passengers will be informed about train changes through different channels. To ensure smooth communication, passengers are advised to provide their correct mobile numbers while booking tickets.
