Saurabh Bharadwaj instructs Municipal corporations to deploy dengue control staff for preventing larval breeding

Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has taken action to address the increasing threat of dengue in Delhi. He has directed all municipal corporations (MCDs) to send workers to people’s homes to prevent mosquito larvae breeding. So far, there have been 350 dengue cases reported in Delhi, with an additional 105 cases in August alone. To accommodate these patients, hospitals have set aside 5% of their beds for dengue patients.

Bhardwaj also mentioned that the department had requested advertisements to raise awareness about dengue, but they were not released intentionally. He believes there might be a conspiracy to keep people unaware. Despite his repeated statements, adverts are not being published in newspapers or on television.

As of August 5, there have been 348 cases of dengue and 85 cases of malaria reported in Delhi. The number of dengue cases in July was 121, 40 in June, and 23 in May. All 105 new cases in August have been registered recently.

It is crucial to take immediate action to control the spread of dengue in Delhi. The government is working towards raising awareness and preventing mosquito breeding through door-to-door checks. The cooperation of all citizens is needed to combat this disease effectively.
