City Police Commissioner CV Anand announced the measures on Thursday under the Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Dasli. Kite-flying is banned on thoroughfares to maintain public order and prevent accidents. The restrictions are aimed at ensuring law and order, peace, and safety during the festive season.

The Commissioner also emphasized regulations for loudspeakers and DJs. Public use of loudspeakers without prior permission is prohibited under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000. Additionally, noise levels must stay within permissible limits: 75 dB(A) for industrial areas during the day, 65 dB(A) for commercial areas, 55 dB(A) for residential zones, and 50 dB(A) for silent zones. No loudspeaker or public address system is allowed between 10 PM and 6 AM, in line with Supreme Court guidelines.

Parents are urged to supervise children while flying kites, especially on terraces without proper safety barriers. The Commissioner advised against running on roads or unsafe areas while collecting stray kites. Children should also avoid retrieving kites from electric poles to prevent accidents like electrocution. He stressed that these guidelines are meant to protect children and prevent untoward incidents.

Violators of these rules will face legal action under the Hyderabad City Police Act, the Environment (Protection) Act, and other applicable laws. Citizens are encouraged to follow these safety measures to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable celebration.
