RSP urges CM to avoid community-specific initiatives in government schools

Hyderabad: BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar on Friday urged the government not to enforce the food policies of charitable institutions like Akshaya Patra in schools. He expressed concern that these organizations’ ideas should not be imposed on students.

During a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Praveen Kumar stated that it is inappropriate to link Akshaya Patra with schools, especially since students from all communities are educated in Gurukuls. He advised the government to refrain from making agreements with organizations such as Brahmakumaris and Akshaya Patra.

Praveen Kumar emphasized that experimenting with poor students should be avoided. He also highlighted the discrepancy in spending, pointing out that the government spends Rs 83 for prisoners’ food but only Rs 37 for students’ meals.

The BRS leader further criticized the Congress government for neglecting Gurukuls. He called on CM Revanth Reddy to increase the mess charges for Gurukul students to ensure better food quality.

Praveen Kumar also raised concerns about the selective approach under the HYDRA initiatives. He emphasized that justice should be equal for all, and the environment should be protected without discrimination. He questioned why HYDRA was quick to take action against the homes of the poor but slow to act on the residence of Tirupati Reddy, the brother of CM Revanth Reddy.
