RS chairman reprimands Chidambaram for using 'offensive, unsuitable' language

Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar reprimanded Congress MP P Chidambaram for his inappropriate language towards the Chair. Chidambaram questioned why Dhankhar was not prioritizing notices under Rule 267, which allows MPs to suspend listed business and discuss important national issues. Dhankhar explained that Chidambaram’s comments insinuated negative assumptions about the chair and urged him to understand the rationale behind his decisions. Some opposition members supported Chidambaram, but Dhankhar had already made a decision to prioritize notices under Rule 176. Dhankhar also mentioned that he has learned positive things from the members.
