RR Act Implemented; Raids Conducted on Six Mills

Wanaparthy District Collector Adarsh Surabhi has decided to take strict action against 40 mills, including those located in the district headquarters of Wanaparthy, for not following the rules and failing to pay their dues.

The Collector stated that these mills owe a total of Rs 120 crores. On Saturday, officials conducted raids on six mills, and the Revenue Recovery (RR) Act was enforced to recover the money, according to the Wanaparthy Civil Supply DM.

One of the mills that faced action was Shiva Sai Industries Rice Mill in Rangapur. This mill had failed to pay dues for the Kharif 2021-22 and Rabi 2021-22 seasons. Despite being issued notices twice to pay Rs 3,57,22,693, the mill did not clear its dues within the given time.

As a result, the RR Act was enforced on six mills in the district, which allowed authorities to recover the dues under the Revenue Recovery Act.

During the operation, belongings were seized from the house of Sri Venkatarami Reddy, the husband of Vijay, who owns the Shiva Sai Industries Rice Mill. Their house is located in Janumpalli village.

The operation involved several officials, including Pevbaru Tahsildar Lakshmi, MPDO, Deputy Tahsildars, ASIs, constables, junior assistants, and other staff members.
