Nagarkurnool Road Safety Awareness Rally Held
As part of Road Safety Month, an awareness rally was organized in Nagarkurnool town on Wednesday. The event was inaugurated by District Superintendent of Police (SP) Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath and District Collector Badavath Santosh. The rally, planned by the district transport department, started at the police station and ended at Ambedkar Chowk. Its purpose was to educate the public about the importance of following traffic rules and practicing road safety.
Participants included students, police officers, transport department staff, and officials from the Road Transport Corporation (RTC). They marched through the streets, holding placards with messages such as “Wearing a Helmet Protects Lives” and “Follow Traffic Rules to Prevent Accidents.” The group also raised slogans to spread awareness about road safety.
District Collector Badavath Santosh spoke about how road safety is a shared responsibility. He urged everyone to follow traffic rules diligently to avoid accidents. He emphasized the importance of wearing helmets for two-wheeler riders and warned against dangerous behaviors like drunk driving and using mobile phones while driving.
District SP Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath shared that various initiatives are being implemented to reduce road accidents in the district. He highlighted that public cooperation is essential to minimizing fatalities and encouraged everyone to strictly adhere to road safety regulations.
