Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will continue to be the leader of the Congress party in Telangana until the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He is determined to maintain control over the Pradesh Congress Committee during this important period. Revanth Reddy is also focused on the party’s affairs in the state, particularly with the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
There is little chance that he will step down and pass on the position to another senior leader. He has proven his capabilities in Telangana during the Assembly elections and is considered the best choice to handle the electioneering in the state.
Revanth Reddy’s authority within the party means that his influence will be felt in the selection of candidates for the General elections. The AICC’s screening committee will seek his approval before finalizing the candidate list.
After becoming Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy formally resigned as the Malkajgiri MP. He has met with the party’s High Command, including AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi. In their next meeting, they will discuss the General elections, strategies, and the party’s prospects.
Revanth Reddy has made it clear that he remains a dedicated party member by visiting Gandhi Bhavan and participating in party events. There were speculations about giving another senior leader a chance, but those speculations are fading away as 2024 approaches.
