The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has refused to withdraw a legal notice against Revanth Reddy. Reddy had released a press note in response to the notice issued by Arvind Kumar. HMDA stated that it would not withdraw the notice that was sent on May 25, 2023. The authority objected to Reddy naming specific officers and casting doubts on their motives and the institution’s functioning. HMDA clarified that it operates under the guidance and directions of the state government. It also stated that officers and departments work under the overall superintendence of the Council of Ministers and the state government while following conduct rules.
HMDA explained that the bid process for ORR TOT was carried out transparently, following NHAI’s laid down norms. The council of Ministers had decided that the TOT bid for 30 years was appropriate. Two NHAI bids were finalized for 30 years, and this was not the first time such a bid was made. All officers involved in the process carried out their job transparently, within conduct rules, and in a neutral manner. The legal notice asked Reddy to withdraw his allegations, some of which were meant to demoralize officers.
Regarding an RTI query filed by Reddy, HMDA clarified that it had submitted a reply within the prescribed timeline and would not withhold any information regarding the ORR TOT bid process. The authority stated that it could not be intimidated or browbeaten and would protect itself and its officers by taking necessary legal action as deemed appropriate.
