During a protest at Praja Bhavan, organized in response to farmers’ demands, police arrested BRS Jogulamba Gadwal district coordinator Kurva Pallayya. The police took him to the Aija Mandal police station before the protest could escalate.
Speaking about the incident, Kurva Pallayya criticized the arrest, saying, “Revanth Reddy cannot deceive the farmers through detentions.” He expressed disappointment with the current administration and accused them of breaking promises made to farmers.
He reminded the government, “You deceived the farmers with false promises to come to power, and now you are backtracking, leaving them in distress.” He also warned that the administration’s actions might turn the farmers against them.
Kurva Pallayya demanded that the government immediately fulfill its promises to the farmers. He called for a waiver of ₹2 lakh in loans for every farmer, without any conditions. Additionally, he urged the government to implement the “Rythu Bharosa” (Farmers’ Support) scheme by the end of September.
He ended his speech with a warning: if the government fails to follow through on the loan waivers and the “Rythu Bharosa” scheme by the end of the month, he is ready to go on a hunger strike.
