Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made plans to establish a Skill University with the help of industry leaders. Similar to the Indian School of Business (ISB), a permanent board will be created to oversee the university’s activities.

During a high-level meeting, important decisions were made regarding the establishment of the university. Officials were instructed to submit proposals for the Skill University before the start of the budget session of the State Assembly at the end of this month. The government will make a decision within 24 hours after reviewing the proposals.

Revanth emphasized the need for a blueprint outlining the courses, curriculum, industrial requirements, and job opportunities for young people at the university. Deputy CM Vikramarka will handle financial matters, while IT and Industry Minister Sridhar Babu will be responsible for curriculum development. Both ministers have been given a deadline to prepare proposals and meet every five days.

The government is considering whether to establish the Skill University through a public-private partnership or solely by the government. A reputable consultancy will be hired to assist in preparing all necessary proposals and reports. The Department of Industries will serve as the coordinating agency for the university.

Decisions made during the meeting included the preparation of a comprehensive report before the budget session of the assembly, plans for a PPP model for the university, and the establishment of a central hub in Hyderabad with satellite campuses in former district headquarters. Industry will play a key role in various aspects of the university’s operations.
