Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that his government has filled 55,143 government posts in a single year, describing the achievement as ‘unprecedented’ in the history of the country.
Speaking at an event on Sunday, Reddy distributed Rs 1 lakh cheques to Civil Services aspirants under the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Civil Services Abhaya Hastam’ programme. He stated that the Telangana government is working diligently to carry out recruitment as per the state’s job calendar.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the recruitment of 55,143 individuals into various government departments during the first year of his administration sets a record, making Telangana a “model for the nation.” He also pointed out that Group 1 exams, which had not been conducted for 14 years, were successfully organized under his government, leading to the filling of 563 posts.
Reddy assured that the recruitment process for Group 1 posts will be completed by March 31. He reiterated his commitment to supporting Civil Services aspirants, emphasizing that his government aims to ensure more candidates from Telangana excel in these competitive exams.
Currently, students from Bihar dominate the Civil Services across the country, Reddy noted. However, he expressed his vision for Telangana to one day lead the nation in the number of Civil Services candidates selected. To help achieve this goal, the government is providing Rs 1 lakh in financial assistance through the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Civil Services Abhaya Hastam’ programme.
The Chief Minister urged aspirants to view this financial support as encouragement from the government. At the event, 20 candidates from Telangana who qualified in the Civil Services Mains were each awarded Rs 1 lakh cheques as part of this initiative.
