Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Criticizes BJP, BRS for False Claims

In a public meeting held in Nalgonda on Saturday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticized the BJP and BRS for spreading false claims about the achievements of the Telangana government. He emphasized that the Congress government had made significant strides, including providing 55,000 jobs and waiving loans worth ₹21,000 crore in just one year. Comparing this to BJP-ruled states, he challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to show similar achievements, even in Gujarat, where Modi served as Chief Minister for 15 years. Revanth stated, “If Modi can prove it, I will go to Delhi and apologize.”

Revanth also slammed BJP leaders, particularly Union Minister J.P. Nadda, for making baseless allegations against the government at a rally in Hyderabad. He accused state BJP leaders like G. Kishan Reddy and Eatala Rajender of simply copying BRS’s claims. Mocking their approach, he remarked, “Even copying requires intelligence,” and said the BJP leaders were lacking in this regard.

Commitment to Reviving the Musi River

The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to rejuvenating the Musi River to improve living conditions in Nalgonda. He highlighted a World Health Organization (WHO) report that flagged Nalgonda as one of the most unhealthy places to live due to dangerously polluted water. Revanth assured the public that the government would take up the project at any cost, calling on citizens to reject parties opposing this initiative in the upcoming local body elections.

Blames KCR for Delays in Fluoride Problem Solutions

Revanth also criticized the previous KCR-led government for delaying solutions to Nalgonda’s fluoride contamination issue. He pointed out that completing the 44-km Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel, initiated during the Congress regime in united Andhra Pradesh, would have permanently resolved the fluorosis problem. The tunnel would have provided Krishna River water for irrigation to 3.5 lakh acres and drinking water to over 500 villages, but the project was left incomplete under KCR’s tenure.

Questions KCR’s Absence and Leadership

Revanth questioned KCR’s frequent absence from Assembly sessions, urging the former CM to introspect on his behavior. He reminded KCR of Congress’s active participation in the Assembly despite losing power for two consecutive terms. Revanth criticized KCR for retreating to his farmhouse after losing power, instead of using his experience to work for the people of Telangana. He accused KCR of deploying individuals to oppose development efforts rather than contributing positively.

Assures Farmers of Support

The Chief Minister also addressed farmers, assuring them that the Rythu Bharosa scheme would be implemented after the Sankranti festival. He urged farmers not to fall for the propaganda spread by the BRS and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to their welfare.
