Restrictions Imposed by Hyderabad City Police for New Year

Hyderabad police have imposed restrictions on New Year celebrations to maintain public order. The city commissioner of police, K Srinivas Reddy, issued guidelines for hotels, clubs, bars, restaurants, and pubs hosting events on December 31. Organizers must apply for permission at least 10 days in advance and install CCTV cameras at entry and exit points, as well as parking areas. They must also provide adequate security guards for traffic management and security. Drink-and-drive cases will result in a three-month suspension of the driver’s license and minors are not allowed to drive. The removal of silencers on two-wheelers and noise pollution are also prohibited. Appropriate behavior and dress code are required, and there should be no obscenity or nudity in performances. Sound levels should not exceed 45 decibels. Firearms are strictly prohibited, and organizers must ensure that the number of attendees does not exceed the venue’s capacity. Minors are not allowed in couples’ programs or pubs and bars. Strict measures should be taken to prevent drug use and the sale of narcotics, and security guards should be appointed to regulate parking and traffic. Pubs must comply with the permitted hours for serving liquor and provide transportation for intoxicated customers. Fire safety instructions must also be followed.
