Construction of gates near Bison Gate and Richardson Road in Hyderabad has raised concerns among locals and daily commuters. They fear that the Local Military Authorities (LMA) might once again restrict civilian access to these routes.
For the past few days, gate-like structures have been appearing in these areas, causing uncertainty about their purpose. The LMA had previously barricaded the road and limited civilian entry, although it is currently open with security checks during peak hours.
Some locals believe a toll gate-like structure is being built, sparking worries that commuters may face the same hardships experienced for years due to road closures. These closures have forced residents to travel an extra eight to ten kilometers, with security checks and restrictions imposed without warning.
It would be helpful if officials clarified the purpose of these gates, as the construction and road restrictions have led to increased traffic congestion. Daily commuters like Manoj Kumar and Nikhil Sriram are urging authorities to provide clear information and install signboards if any road restrictions are planned.
