Relatives of Nizam to approach High Court against demolition plans for OGH

The relatives of the Nizam are planning to go to the Telangana High Court to oppose the government’s decision to demolish the heritage structure of Osmania Hospital in Hyderabad. Himayat Ali Mirza, the great-grandson of the Nizam, previously went to the court to challenge the government’s stance on other heritage structures and said that he will also challenge this decision in court along with other organizations like INTACH. He also mentioned that he has asked his family members, including Muffakham Jah, the chairman of Nizam’s Trust, for support in this matter. Anuradha Reddy from INTACH stated that many people have approached the court regarding this issue and they are waiting to see what happens. The issue of Osmania Hospital has been a contentious one for many years and gained attention when Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao visited in 2015. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has been advocating for a new structure and criticized the government’s priorities.
