Relative of Nizam appeals to CBFC to reject approval for 'Razakar'

Himayat Ali Mirza, the great-grandson of Nizam VII, is requesting the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to reject clearance for the Telugu movie ‘Razakar’. He questions the truth behind the events depicted in the movie and mentions that Minister K T Rama Rao and other concerned citizens have also expressed their opposition to its release.

In his letter to the Board and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mirza alleges that the movie promotes hatred and creates communal tensions. He urges the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister and CBFC to not clear the movie, claiming that it portrays false atrocities against Hindus during the Nizam’s rule and shows forceful conversions to Islam.

Mirza believes that the trailer’s release on Telangana Liberation Day has sparked a political debate about historical accuracy, communal harmony, and censorship. He accuses certain political parties of distorting facts and inciting communal tensions for their own propaganda.

After the trailer was released on September 17, Minister KT Rama Rao criticized the BJP for instigating communal violence and polarizing society for their political agenda. He announced that they would address the issue with the censor board and Telangana police to ensure that law and order in Telangana is not affected. MLC K Kavitha, daughter of KCR, also criticized the BJP for its involvement in the release of the ‘Razakar’ trailer.
