Anantapur and Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh experienced record-breaking high temperatures in April. Anantapur reached 44.4 degrees Celsius, the highest ever recorded in April, while Nandyal hit 44.5 degrees.
Other areas in the region also saw high temperatures, with Kurnool at 44.3 degrees, Cuddapah at 43.2 degrees, and Tirupati at 42.4 degrees. Coastal Andhra Pradesh recorded temperatures ranging from 38 to 43.6 degrees.
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority warned of continued dry weather until April 8, with heat waves expected in some areas. Relief is expected on April 9 with light rain in certain districts.
Precautions for dealing with heatwaves include staying informed about weather conditions, wearing light clothing, staying indoors, and drinking plenty of water. Symptoms of heatstroke include headache, dizziness, high fever, and feeling faint or disoriented. If symptoms occur, seek medical attention immediately.
