Hyderabad: The city police in Hyderabad have arrested standup comedian Utsav Dixit for reckless driving. He crashed his luxury car into the boundary wall of KBR Park. Utsav, who is 33 years old, was booked after a patrolling police officer filed a complaint.
The incident happened on November 1, when Utsav’s red Porsche car collided with a tree and caused serious damage to the park’s boundary wall, grills, and pavement. A concerned citizen called the police through the Dial 100 emergency service, and officers quickly arrived at the scene.
When the police arrived, they saw that the car had hit the footpath and the park’s boundary wall. They noticed that the car didn’t have a number plate at first. However, after searching, they found a broken number plate inside the vehicle.
After a quick investigation, the police determined that the crash happened because Utsav was driving carelessly and lost control of the car. The front part of the car and its wheels were damaged, but Utsav had managed to flee the scene before the police arrived.
The police were able to track him down using the evidence they had. He was arrested and sent for medical tests to check for alcohol or drugs in his system, as part of the legal process.
Utsav’s driving license has been taken by the police, and it will be sent to the Road Transport Office (RTO) to be disqualified under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
