Doctors at SVS Medical College in Mahbubanagar successfully performed a rare cryobiopsy of a 27-year-old female patient’s lung via rigid bronchoscopy under general anaesthesia. The patient was suffering from chronic shortness of breath and had a history of tuberculosis. The doctors discovered that the patient was suffering from hypersensitive pneumonitis, a rare condition caused by inflammation of the lungs due to exposure to pigeon droppings and feathers. The doctors were able to perform this rare procedure with the available medical equipment at SVS Medical College. The medical team was headed by Dr. T. Venkateshwar Reddy, Professor Pulmonologists Department, and included Dr. Pradyut Waghray, Professor, Head of the department pulmonologist, Dr. ANV Koteswara Rao, Professor of Pulmonolgy and Resident Director Ram Reddy, and several other doctors.
