    Rally and Conference Held to Demand 3 Acres of Land for Poor Landless Workers

    Gadwal: On March 29, the Telangana Agricultural Workers Union (TAVU) held a rally and conference in Ieeja Mandal to mark the International Day of Struggle for Landless Agricultural Labourers.

    Labourers from different villages joined the rally. They marched from Telangana Chowrasta to the Tahsildar’s office, shouting slogans and demanding that the government give 3 acres of land to each landless poor labourer.

    During the event, awareness programs were held where rural women took an active part. They shared the problems they face in their daily lives. Smt. Lavanya, the Women’s Secretary of the Agricultural Workers Union in Jogulamba Gadwal District, spoke at the gathering.

    She said that women’s rights will only be real when laws are put into action, not just written down. She also highlighted the need for proper food and healthcare for rural women to solve their problems.

    A list of demands was given to the Chief Minister of Telangana, Enumula Revanth Reddy, through the Tahsildar of Ieeja Mandal.

    Many people attended the event, including District General Secretary G. Narasimhulu, 54 labourers, officers from the Rural Employment Scheme, Mandal Development Officer Sri Venkataiah, TAVU Ieeja Mandal President Govindamma, village leaders like Jayamma and Prashanti Rajitha, workers from various village groups, and activists such as Shivaraju, Esanna, Urukunda Chari, and Maddileti.
