Hyderabad: To raise awareness about the increasing number of breast cancer cases, two NGOs, We Care You Foundation and Shresta Foundation, organized a breast cancer awareness program for women in the city.
The event took place at Habib Fatima Nagar in the Borabanda area, chosen as an ideal location to spread important information about breast cancer. The program aimed to educate women about the medical complications related to breast cancer and the importance of early detection.
A group of medical professionals led the session, including Dr. Ramana Mohan, Chief Medical Officer at Government Ayurvedic Hospital Erragadda, along with Dr. Neeranjani, Dr. Manjula, and Dr. Aruna. These experts shared valuable information on various topics, such as the early signs and symptoms of breast cancer, how to perform self-examinations, and dietary precautions to help prevent the disease.
The participants were encouraged to ask questions, engage in discussions, and share their experiences. Many women expressed their willingness to follow the doctors’ advice to better manage their health. The event saw the presence of notable community figures like local leader Mr. Shareef, Government Ayurvedic Hospital Coordinator Vijaya Sri, Asha workers, and Anganwadi teachers, who all play key roles in promoting community health.
Rebka Rani, the president of We Care You Foundation, highlighted the importance of community-driven awareness efforts. She said, “Knowledge is power, and it can help women take charge of their health and inspire others to do the same.”
Eprhim Kankanala, the founder and CEO of Shresta Foundation, also addressed the audience, emphasizing the continued commitment of both organizations to raising awareness and providing resources. He stated that both NGOs are dedicated to creating supportive networks for women in the community.
