Rahul Gandhi approaches Supreme Court in Modi surname defamation case

Rahul Gandhi, a Congress leader and former MP, has filed a petition with the Supreme Court regarding the ‘Modi surname’ case. He is challenging the decision of the Gujarat High Court, which dismissed his request to delay his sentencing in the defamation case. The High Court upheld Rahul Gandhi’s conviction on July 7, making him ineligible to serve in Parliament or run for election.

Rahul Gandhi’s petition has just been submitted to the Supreme Court, and his counsel may request an early hearing on Monday from the Chief Justice.
