Rachakonda Police Commissioner Urges Vigilance from Officials and Public Amid Heavy Rains

Due to heavy rains affecting the region, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudhir Babu, IPS, has urged citizens to stay alert and limit travel to only essential trips. During a video conference today, officials discussed various strategies for relief and rehabilitation in response to the ongoing weather challenges.

The meeting included notable figures such as Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, and DGP Dr. Jitender. Commissioners Sudhir Babu from Rachakonda and Avinash Mahanty from Cyberabad emphasized the need for immediate action to help residents struggling with the effects of the rain, especially in low-lying areas.

Local authorities, including DCPs and ACPs, were instructed to implement several precautionary measures to ensure public safety. The Rachakonda region has been severely impacted, with motorists and pedestrians facing difficulties due to flooding and hazardous road conditions.

Officials have been directed to coordinate with other government departments to enhance alert systems, particularly in vulnerable areas. They will also place signboards near open manholes to prevent accidents.

Commissioner Sudhir Babu stressed the importance of minimizing travel during severe weather. He advised residents to avoid going out unless absolutely necessary and to avoid using vehicles like cars when possible. This proactive approach aims to reduce risks associated with the heavy rainfall.

The meeting also saw the participation of DCP SB Karunakar and other officials, highlighting a collaborative effort to ensure the safety and well-being of the community during this challenging time.
