Hyderabad Police Arrest Man with Illegal Firearms
The Rachakonda Special Operations Team (SOT) of Bhongir Zone, in coordination with Jawahar Nagar police, arrested a man in possession of illegal firearms. The seized items included two country-made pistols, one tapancha, and ten live rounds.
The arrested individual, identified as 26-year-old Hare Krishna Yadav, is a native of Uttar Pradesh. According to police reports, Krishna Yadav moved to Hyderabad in 2019 with his brother Murali and worked at a company in Bibinagar. In 2022, he left his job and returned to his village, where he took up small-scale farming.
Police revealed that Krishna Yadav had connections with illegal firearm manufacturers. To make quick money, he devised a plan to buy country-made weapons at low prices and sell them in Hyderabad at higher rates. “He intended to target needy individuals looking for firearms,” said DCP Malkajgiri, Padmaja.
As part of his plan, Krishna Yadav procured three types of weapons from Sampath Yadav, a resident of Bhojpur district in Bihar. He brought the firearms to Hyderabad and was preparing to sell them through his contacts.
On Wednesday, while he was near the Ambedkar Nagar bus stop in the flower garden area, the SOT team and Jawahar Nagar police apprehended him. The authorities seized the weapons and live rounds from his possession, preventing the illegal sale of firearms in the city.
