Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with his ministers D Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and D Anasuya, paid tributes to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao on his 19th death anniversary at the PV Ghat on Necklace Road. During the event, Revanth Reddy praised the administrative and economic reforms introduced by Narasimha Rao, stating that they are still relevant and should be implemented today.
Revanth Reddy highlighted that Narasimha Rao played a crucial role in promoting India’s reputation on the global stage. He emphasized that when the country’s economy was struggling, Narasimha Rao made bold decisions to overcome the challenges. Revanth Reddy also mentioned Narasimha Rao’s famous dialogue about mortgaging gold, where he advised wise individuals to only mortgage half of their property to secure the rest. He commended Narasimha Rao for bringing revolutionary changes to the administration and establishing a strong foundation for land distribution to the poor.
Revanth Reddy further stated that Narasimha Rao’s foresight led India towards economic liberalization, and his initiatives continue to be relevant today. The Chief Minister revealed that the State government plans to enhance the PV Ghat and Jaipal Ghat to honor these two great leaders who are considered “Treasure Troves” for Telangana. The event was attended by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, TPPC working president Mahesh Kumar Goud, and other dignitaries.
