Public Split in Telangana Over Plans to Modify Telangana Thalli Statue and New Government Moves

Hyderabad: A proposed change to the Telangana Thalli statue has stirred mixed reactions among the public. Many believe the move is a distraction from pressing issues that deserve more attention. Pathlavath Laxman, an auto driver from Hyderabad, shared his thoughts with The Hans India, criticizing the government for prioritizing symbolic gestures over real concerns. He specifically mentioned the upcoming Praja Palana Day celebrations, which include events like an aviation show and music concerts. “Congress is just having fun, but it won’t be repeated next time,” Laxman remarked.

Laxman also expressed disappointment with the current government for discontinuing certain welfare policies implemented by the previous administration. He pointed out that the ₹5 lakh compensation for grieving families is no longer being offered. “This government doesn’t offer that support anymore,” he said.

While new initiatives like the Free Bus for Women program have been introduced, Laxman argued that they aren’t making a significant impact. “It’s not helping anyone,” he added, voicing concerns about the effectiveness of such schemes.

Many residents, including Laxman, feel that focusing on the statue change is an attempt to divert attention from unresolved issues. They highlighted the need for stronger action on critical matters like the Rythu Bandhu scheme and agricultural challenges. Citizens are calling for meaningful solutions to address the state’s pressing problems rather than symbolic changes.
