Postgraduate students of Nizam College in Hyderabad staged a protest on Wednesday. They were demanding basic facilities, especially water, in the girl’s hostel. The protesting students blocked the main road in front of the college and refused to move until their demands were met.
The students expressed their frustration with the current situation. They mentioned that they have to wait in long queues every morning to use the washroom. There are even days when they are unable to bathe due to a lack of water supply. The water purifiers are also empty because of this issue.
According to the students, there has been a water crisis in the hostel for the past five months. They also stated that the quality of food served in the hostel has deteriorated. Despite their complaints and efforts to bring attention to the issue, the students claim that their concerns have been ignored by the college administration. When they sought answers, they were told that the blame lies with the state government and scholarship problems.
The protesting students are demanding immediate action to address the water shortage and improve the overall conditions in the girl’s hostel.
