Promote a Peaceful Celebration of the Ganesh Festival

District Collector Rahul Raj P.S. wants to organize the Ganesh festival in a peaceful and coordinated manner. He addressed a peace committee meeting at the collectorate meeting hall with members of the Hindu festival committee, officials, religious leaders, and the district SP. The meeting was held to discuss the conduct of the Vinayaka Navratri festival celebrations.

The Collector emphasized the importance of holding the Vinayaka Navratri celebrations grandly in a peaceful atmosphere, promoting harmony in the district. He urged officials from various departments like Police, Electricity, and Municipal to work together and provide necessary facilities to the Ganesh Mandals in different areas.

Specifically, municipal officials were instructed to ensure facilities like sanitation, drinking water, mobile toilets, and road repairs. The Collector also warned against leaving cattle on the roads and stated that action will be taken according to the rules. The electricity department was directed to fix loose wires and ensure a constant power supply to prevent accidents at the mandapalas.

During the immersion days, the Collector ordered officials to provide cranes, electricity, and other necessary facilities at Penganga and Chanda rivers. Duties will be assigned in shifts, and medical camps, ambulances, and fire engines will be made available at main intersections of the town to ensure people’s safety and convenience.

Superintendent of police D. Uday Kumar Reddy emphasized the need for organizing the Vinayaka festivals in a festive atmosphere. He assured that necessary measures will be taken by the police department, based on past experiences, to prevent any incidents. He suggested that each Ganesh Mandapam should obtain permission and install CCTV cameras for security purposes.
