Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy introduced a new scheme called ‘Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhayahastam’ at Praja Bhavan on Saturday.

Under this scheme, the government will give Rs 1 lakh to students from Telangana who have passed the UPSC Prelims exam. This money will help them get coaching for the Main exam.

The Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) is funding this assistance. They are doing this as part of their corporate social responsibility under a program called ‘Nirmaan’.

The Chief Minister thanked the Singareni Company for their support. He mentioned that students from Bihar and Rajasthan were achieving top ranks in UPSC exams and also doing well in other exams like those for Railway and banks.

In contrast, he said that students from Telangana mainly focus on State-level exams.

Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari added that this financial help shows the State government’s dedication to supporting students.
