Prof Sachidananda Mohanty has been appointed as a member of UGC

Professor Sachidananda Mohant, a former professor and Head of the Department of English at the University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been appointed as a member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for a three-year term. He has had a successful career in education and culture, with over three decades of experience. Previously, he served as the vice chancellor of the Central University of Odisha.

Professor Mohanty is an alumnus of UoH, having studied in the Department of English from 1977 to 1979. His work in academic genres such as travel writing, cosmopolitanism, institutional history, early women’s writing in Eastern India, and postcolonial and cultural history of India has been highly regarded both nationally and internationally.

Throughout his career, Professor Mohanty has received numerous accolades for his contributions to the field of education. He is known for his groundbreaking work and expertise in various areas of study.
