Prodigal Son Returns: Alla Ramakrishna Reddy Rejoins YSRCP

Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, a trusted member of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s team, has returned to the YSR Congress party after leaving the party and his position as an MLA in Mangalagiri.

Ramakrishna Reddy had been supporting Jagan’s sister, Y S Sharmila, during her padayatra in Telangana. After Sharmila was unable to make headway with her own party or join the Congress in Telangana, she became the president of the Andhra Pradesh unit of the Congress. Ramakrishna Reddy publicly supported her and began associating with the Congress, eventually leaving Jagan’s party to join the APCC.

Despite gaining recognition for defeating Nara Lokesh, son of TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, in Mangalagiri, Ramakrishna Reddy felt uncomfortable and decided to leave. He met with YS Jagan and expressed his willingness to work for the party in future elections.

Ramakrishna Reddy stated that the YSRCP had given him the opportunity to be elected as an MLA twice and had supported him. He announced that a leader from the backward classes would be the party’s candidate in Mangalagiri for the upcoming elections, expressing his strong attachment to the YSR Congress.

Ramakrishna Reddy also mentioned his regret for being away from the party for two months, highlighting his commitment to ensuring victory for any YSR Congress candidate in Mangalagiri. He emphasized the importance of supporting candidates who represent the interests of the poor and downtrodden.

Ramakrishna Reddy is known for his legal battle against former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and current Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in the cash-for-vote case. His case is currently pending before the Supreme Court.
