Problems Arise for TPCC Election Commission in Shortlisting Candidates

The Pradesh Election Commission of the Congress committee in Hyderabad is having trouble choosing candidates for the upcoming elections. Ponnala Lakshmaiah, a senior leader, surprised the commission by saying that he wants to run and expects support from party leaders. He believes that as a former TPCC president, he should be given the ticket. T Jagga Reddy, another party leader, objected to this statement, stating that senior leaders should not make such demands.

TPCC president A Revanth Reddy also expressed his view that senior leaders should not make such demands. The Pradesh Election Commission will select candidates based on certain criteria and then seek approval from the party high command.

Some leaders are opposing the candidacy of G Chinna Reddy, a senior party leader. They believe he should not be given a ticket. The NSUI leaders are also vying for a ticket.

In other news, AICC senior leader Renuka Chowdary commented on the possibility of Y S Sharmila joining the party. She stated that she has met with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, but there is no official information from the high command about Sharmila’s membership. When asked about reports that she requested the Palair seat, Renuka said that there is no problem with asking for a seat, but eligibility will determine the final decision. She added that neither Sonia nor Rahul have given her any assurance.
