Hyderabad: The State Cabinet has decided to rename the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme in honor of former Union Minister Sudini Jaipal Reddy. This decision was officially approved on Saturday.
In addition, the Cabinet gave its approval to rename the Singur project after the late Minister Rajanarsimha, who was the father of the State Medical and Health Minister, Damodar Rajanarsimha.
The Cabinet also discussed steps to improve water access for irrigation in the old Mahabubnagar district. To address this, they decided to form a technical expert committee. This committee will explore various ways to provide irrigation water from the Jurala project to the newly planned ayacut area.
The committee’s work will include conducting a feasibility study. It will evaluate the availability of water, the possibility of constructing a reservoir, and the amount of water that can be lifted for irrigation purposes.
