Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s swearing-in as the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on June 12. Kishan Reddy also thanked PM Modi for assigning important portfolios to MPs from Telugu States.

During a media briefing in the national capital, Kishan Reddy mentioned that efforts will be made to boost development in both Telugu States and enhance their competitiveness with other States. Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar was appointed as Minister of State for Home Affairs, while Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh will serve as the Union Minister for Civil Aviation.

Dr Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar from Guntur was allocated as the Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, and Srinivas Verma from Narasapuram, Andhra Pradesh, was appointed as the Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel. The allocation of Civil Aviation to Rammohan Naidu is expected to facilitate the development of airport infrastructure in various cities in Andhra Pradesh.

Kishan Reddy expressed confidence in efficiently managing the coal and mines portfolios under PM Modi’s guidance. He emphasized the importance of these sectors in ensuring energy security and government revenue, and highlighted the need for comprehensive and transparent policies in coal mining and supply.

The Minister also underscored the significance of overseeing the welfare of workers in the coal and mining industry. He mentioned the revenue-generating potential of mineral mining for State and Central governments, praising former Union Coal and Mines Minister Prahlad Joshi’s efficient management of the sector.
