Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the establishment of the Turmeric Board and the Samakka Sarakka Central Tribal University in Telangana. The university will receive a budget of Rs 900 crore. The Prime Minister made these announcements during a speech after laying the foundations for various projects worth Rs 13,500 crore in Mahabubnagar.
In his speech, Prime Minister Modi referred to the people as his family members in Telugu. He also mentioned that the festival season was about to begin in the country and announced a gift for women called “Nari Shakti Vandan” before Navratri.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated the people of Telangana for the projects worth Rs 13,500 crore. He stated that the Government of India has decided to establish a National Turmeric Board to support farmers in Telangana by providing a value chain from production to export and research, along with infrastructure.
Additionally, the Prime Minister announced the establishment of the Samakka Sarakka Central Tribal University in Mulugu district with a budget of Rs 900 crore.
Prime Minister Modi also emphasized the importance of highway corridors in facilitating movement and promoting development in different sectors such as fishing seafood, pharma and medical, and textiles. He mentioned that these corridors would create direct and indirect job opportunities, particularly benefiting landlocked states like Telangana that need connectivity to the rest of the world.
